Our eldest son had his first day of school Thursday of last week (Feb 9, 2006). He is not yet three years old but we felt he was smart and mature enough to attend pre-school. He joined a private pre-school in Malaysia in his mothers home town of Muar. It is not much but it has a good tearch to student ratio. We wanted him to go so he could ‘study’ Mandarin. However the school teaches three languages at once; Mandarin, English and Malay!
His first day went fairly well although he was not happy to see us go. He cried and screamed for a good five minutes while we hid away in the car listening. However after he calmed down he settle in o.k. He is still a bit shy and takes about an hour to warm up each day (only been a week) but Regina and I are confident he will get to a point where he won’t want to leave.
He will be going for an entire two months while Regina, Alexander and Ethan stay in Malaysia. I am back in the U.S. missing the dearly. But I know the experience even at this young age will be invaluable as he grows older.
